Six Gor Mahia players might have a chance of playing in England after scouts from various clubs inquired about them after the match between Everton and Gor.
The Kenyan champions lost 4-0 to their hosts in a one-sided affair, but stand to gain if the scouts take a good report back to their teams.
Speaking after the match, K'Ogalo coach Dylan Kerr revealed that a top scout from Scotland has contacted him over the availability of the players.
The six are Shafik Batambuze, who joined the club recently, Philemon Otieno, Ernest Wendo, Cercidy Okeyo, Francis Kahata and Harun Shakava.
“I have just received another phone call from a well-known scout from Scotland and he wants the details of the six players. Had my players’ played like I know, the list could have been even bigger,” he said as quoted by Gor.
“Nobody wanted that result, 4-0, it was a bad result but we marched them, they never caused us many problems like I thought, we defended very well and also missed our top striker Jacques Tuyisenge which did not help,” he added.
"I don’t think we got hammered, we gave them a few scares and should have scored a couple of goals and we didn’t because we were unlucky, and nobody really troubled my goalkeeper and when you look at the list of the players, they have, I must thank my players because they put up a good show,”
The team is still in England and will travel back to prepare for the start of the Kenya Premier League, where they will be hoping to defend their title once again.
