The crawl towards 2022 is slowly taking shape for Deputy President William Ruto each and every passing day.
Up to this point, it is almost clear that automatic support from Mt Kenya hangs in limbo.
As a man of valour, pundits pose that this should not be a challenge for the self-declared hustler from Sugoi. The Deputy President is scheming on ways to get ‘there’ without the support of Mt Kenya.
DP Ruto has been traversing the country lately wooing leaders especially from opposition strongholds such as the Coast and Western.
In the Coast region, he has already gotten the support of legislators Mohamed Ali and Aisha Jumwa, to add to the list of Jubilee party governors and Members of Parliament.
In the Western region, he seemingly has gotten Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula. The vote-rich Luhya community could prove pivotal to his ascend to the presidency.
DP Ruto's strategy will ensure that he gets maximum support from other communities other than the Mt Kenya communities.
Recently, the leader of the majority in the National Assembly Adan Duale spoke of how Ruto is assured of support from the pastoralists in the north.
Should the backing of the Kalenjin community stay intact, the hustler may as well romp into state house come 2022, barring electoral fraud.
