As the presidential elections get hotter, the legislators of this region have found themselves divided into different groups with some being branded rebels and others loyal members of their parties.

A good number of sitting MPs may end up losing their seats if the elections were held today as result of poor performance or their recent political activities.

Here is a list of three North Rift MPs who would lose their seats if elections were held today;

Alfred Keter

He is a second term MP representing Nandi Hills constituency. He won the seat during the 8th August general elections on a Jubilee party ticket but almost lost it when his close rival moved to court opposing his victory. His rebellious nature and regular attacks on DP Ruto might cost him given that North Rift is Ruto's political bedrock.

Silas Tiren

The Moiben MP has been a close ally to DP Ruto for some time now until the recent maize scandal. His performance as an MP has not been we rated by the locals. There have been allegations that Tiren is working with KANU party and will automatically lose his seat if he decides to defend it on a KANU ticket since Moiben is one of Ruto’s strongholds.

Joshua Kutuny

The youthful legislator was in parliament from 2007-2013 representing Cherangany. He, however, lost the seat in 2013 but secured it five years later. Political analysts say that his recent move of linking DP Ruto with maize scandal and branding him the major cartel behind the farmers' woes might cost him his seat. He can easily be rigged out or his rebellious nature might make his voters lose trust in him.
