Mitaboni MCA Fredrick Mbuva Muthoka has volunteered to provide lunch to all KCPE candidates in his ward.
This is in a bid to ensure they don't waste time going home for lunch.
Muthoka said that about 700 candidates from 18 schools in Mitaboni ward, Machakos County will benefit from the programme.
He said the programme is meant to enhance the children's preparedness in the examinations.
The MCA spoke to this writer in Mitaboni on Thursday.
"We have 18 schools in Mitaboni ward. As the examinations start next week on Tuesday, I saw it fit to ensure that the candidates don't waste time going home for lunch. This is my contribution in ensuring they pass their exams," Muthoka said.
The food distribution began on Thursday.
He promised to award every three candidates from each school after results are out.
The MCA wished the candidates success in their exams.
"I wish all the candidates, both KCPE and KCSE candidates success in their exams. I'm sure they will make us proud," Muthoka added.
Muthoka urged the residents to support their leaders as they make strides in leadership for effective service delivery.
