Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri on Sunday accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of taking the Kikuyu community support for granted, adding that he's the problem in integration of Kenyan communities.
In a press conference, a furious Ngunjiri scolded Uhuru, insisting that he's dumping Deputy President William Ruto for Raila Odinga without any mistake.
"It is you who told us about 2022. It's you who taught us to insult the other opponent (Raila Odinga). In fact, you should be charged in a court of law for inciting us against the Luos.
"Ruto ran your campaigns. In fact it was deputy president campaigns. You are now abandoning him. We shall stand with him no matter what you're saying. We shall vote for him," he said.
A section of MPs allied to Ruto are furious at the president on grounds that he has failed to stamp authority in his Jubilee party, with utterances of David Murathe, the president's closest ally causing tension.
For Ngunjiri, a pointsman of Ruto among Kikuyu community in Rift Valley, Uhuru has lost direction and he should call for fresh presidential election urgently.
"We can't allow this to happen. The problem with those people was created by your father and you are here preparing to create another one. It's unacceptable and we should now go for an election," he fired back.
But Uhuru, who spoke on Monday at Mombasa, dismissed 2022 campaigns, insisting that development comes first before anything else.
