Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has dismissed audit report implicating his government over misappropriation of funds.
Mr Nyagarama said on Tuesday that his government has not misused funds, adding that the report from Auditor General was fake.
"I strongly oppose the fake reports that my government has misused public funds. I am ready to give the figures in the audit report which clears shows how my administration has been using money," he said.
He accused the press of being misused by his critics to spread propaganda, adding that all money disbursed can be accounted for.
"The media people are not wrong because they get news from wrong sources. Nyamira residents should not worry because there is no amount of money which has been misappropriated," he stated.
He expressed his confidence that the official audit report to be released will be clean and reflect the face of his government.
The ODM allied Governor challenged residents to ignore the fake reports being peddled by rivals about misappropriation of funds.
A report generated from IFMIS shows that Nyagarama spent millions in State House functions, Cabinet meetings, free education and coordination of ministries which are functions of the national government.
