Deputy President William Ruto on Friday donated Sh2 million during a fundraiser in support of once Football Giants and Gusii based club Shabana Fc.
The fundraising ceremony was graced by DP Ruto at Crown Plaza, Nairobi.
Speaking during the function, Ruto urged leaders to stop questioning his source of money which he has hardly worked for.
"Opponents should not be concerned so much about the source of my money. I have worked hard to get the money but, lazy opponents uses their money in drinking alcohol," he noted.
Leaders who contributed in solidarity with Shabana FC include; Presidnet Uhuru Kenyatta contributed Sh1 million, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka donated Sh200, 000, Kisii County governor James Ongwae contributed Sh200,000, Governor Sonko donated Sh200,000, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi issues Sh80,000, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi donated Sh100,000, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, flamboyant businessman Don Bosco contributed Sh50,000.
Others include; MP Simba Arati who donated Sh100,000, Senator Millicent Omanga, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro.
Anthony Kibagendi contributed Sh20,000, Kisii County senator Sam Ongeri donated Sh100,000 while the county MP Janet Ongera donated Sh50,000 and MP Machogu donated Sh50,000 among others.
Over Sh5 million was contributed.
