Instead, Mr Odinga will be busy attending to continental assignments in his capacity as AU High Representative for Infrastructural Development, a role he was given in October 2018 following his true with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

ODM's Chris Karan will be facing his immediate predecessor David Ochieng, who successfully challenged his election as MP both at the High Court and Appeal's Court.

"I will not be coming to campaign for our candidate since I have a bigger role of taking care of infrastructure development in the entire continent," he said during the funeral of former senior chief Daudi Owino Olak in Lifunga Kobiero village, Ugenya Sub County.

"There are good things in the offing. I have talked to President Uhuru Kenyatta and he has promised to build the Butere-Musanda-Sigomere-Ukwala road," he told mourners, Daily Nation reported.

Most likely, Senator James Orengo will take over the campaigns given that he's the Parliamentary Group leader and by the virtue that he served at the region as MP.

Also expected to join are Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, Director of Elections Junet Mohammed and Political Affairs Secretary Opiyo Wandayi.

Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo urged locals not to be hoodwinked with handouts, insisting that the party's option has been tested and succeeded.
