From a local dialect singer to a national hip-hop artist, Msupa S was determined to leave a mark in the Kenyan entertainment industry. She never allowed anyone or anything to stand in her way.
She turned the mockery that Kenyans on social media were making out of her into a stepping stone to greatness. Her determination to make it as a hip-hop artist saw her travel from Eldoret to Nairobi to seek for greener pastures.
Later on, she got invitations for interviews on TV shows, not because she was a good artist, but because Kenyans had made her trend by making fun of naiveness in a video she had shot.
Funny memes and short clips of her were created and circulated across social media.
Khaligraph Jones being an experienced rapper and somebody who knows how the industry works saw an opportunity in her. The two hooked up and released a song that made many people change their perception on Msupa S.
She took everybody by surprise with her excellent rapping skills that apparently not many thought she had. Everybody was like; "Who knew she could rap like that?'
The same social media that had made fun of her turned around and supported her.
Khaligraph Jones, however, left Msupa S who was still young in the industry. Hungry producers jumped on the opportunity and used her. They took advantage of her naiveness and filled her video with Illuminati signs, something that made her lose fans.
Msupa S in one interview with Kiss 100 said she thought the signs were just triangles and samosa. She did not know that her career was dying slowly.
Just like that, the once-celebrated queen of rap faded away from the industry. But as they say, it is never late to make a comeback.
