The former USA President Barack Obama has finally made his highly publicised visit to his ancestral home in Kogelo Siaya county but some of the locals are not impressed over what they term as being snubbed by their 'son'.
"What I can tell Obama since he ascended to the presidency there is nothing he has done for us and he has been at the helm for two terms yet as the youths we still hustle and practice crude farming methods," said Nicodemus, one of the youths.
Students from Senator Obama secondary school were also not left behind as they issued their wish list to the former POTUS, mingled with complaints of having been ignored.
"I would like to tell him(Obama) to buy us a school bus because we can't go far without one. I would also like to ask him to repair some of the classes that have cracks and also erect for us a fence around the school," said Lilian Otieno, a pupil at Senator Barack Obama secondary school.
"I am happy to see our elder brother but I would like to see him for the first time so I am requesting him to come at least wave to us," added Otieno.
Obama is yet to speak with the locals who have paraded themselves on the roads since the wee hours of the morning hoping that he would at least rise through the roof of his car and wave or at least greet them with some two or three sketchy Dholuo words
Obama's half-sister Auma Obama has also been accused of personalising the former POTUS trip to Kenya ignoring the fact that Obama is a global phenomenon who should also have an opportunity to address the anxious locals.
