This is after the County government allocated a matatu stage for them after three days of protests by relevant matatu operators, conductors and drivers.

The protests led by area MCA Renson Thoya, saw him arrested and detained for few hours at the Central Police Station for allegedly leading unlawful protests.

However, after talks with Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works CeC Tawfiq Balala and the County Inspectorate, Thoya and the matatu operators leadership secured a stage at Mwembe Tayari market after Nawal building over the weekend.

The stage already has stewards who now help commuters by directing them to the point.

Prior to the new stage, Mikindani matatus operated from Yukay area before being evicted by the County askaris.
