To salvage his quest on Big Four agenda, President Uhuru Kenyatta should consider calling for Jubilee party Parliamentary Group meeting to iron out differences among members, Soy MP Caleb Kositany has said.

Jubilee party is currently divided into Team Tanga Tanga which supports DP William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions and Team Kieleweke, which purports to back Uhuru's agenda.

But Kositany, a former aide to Dr Ruto, said on Sunday that Uhuru has drastically changed from a humble to temperamental president ever since he reconciled with ODM leader Raila Odinga last year.

“We don't know what happened after the handshake. We had very humble Uhuru but today we have a very temperamental President,” said Mr Kositany.

Mr Kositany is an instrumental member of Team Tanga Tanga and has often challenged Uhuru to openly support his deputy for 2022 polls. Uhuru has always remained silent over the subject.

Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono on his part claimed that Uhuru has since donated presidential powers to Mr Odinga. The former Prime Minister on Monday met three ministers in Kisumu where they launched Special Economic Zone.

“It seems Uhuru donated some of his powers to Raila. The presidency has been weakened but they are trying to fulfil their pledges,” said Mr Rono.

But nominated MP Maina Kamanda on Sunday defended the president, arguing that Dr Ruto has 'bought' MPs from Mt Kenya to detract President Uhuru Kenyatta from fulfilling his pledges to people.

“Even former President (Daniel) Moi was respected up to the end even after his candidate lost the 2002 elections. Nyeri people and most of Central Kenya also stuck with Kibaki. It is shocking that Kiambu people are now the ones leading the revolt against Uhuru,” Mr Kamanda said.
