Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Monday appeared before the Senate to shed more light on the war between the executive and Mombasa MCAs.
While responding to the questions in the Senate, Joho thanked Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri for saving the life of his mother at the time he needed him most.
The Mombasa Governor said that he had boarded a flight to Dubai with his mother when she fell ill.
He went on to reveal that he had nowhere to turn to when the incident occurred until he contacted Ongeri.
Joho, who is also ODM's deputy party leader, said that the Senator took care of his mother until she recuperated.
He noted that he has thanked the Senator in a special way but he feels that is not enough.
“Professor and doctor Ongeri, on matters of seniority -- all of us have somehow benefitted from his hard work in our republic. I have personal experience with the Senator. I have never thanked him enough.
“Senator and I were once travelling to some foreign country and then my mother fell ill on board four hours after takeoff. I had nowhere to turn to but Senator Ongeri quickly came through for us," he said.
