The tour saw the former Deputy Prime Minsiter open a new party office in Meru county, barely three years to the much anticipated 2022 general elections.

He also presided over the party's National Convention in the same county, a function that was attended by party members from the region.

"Presided over the opening of the Maua ANC Party office, met residents and attended the ANC National Convention in Maua Meru County," he wrote on twitter.

He used the function to call for calm in the ongoing stalemante between the Ministry of Education and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT).

The two sides have been losked in a row regarding the implementation of the new Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) which KNUT remains opposed to.

On the other hand, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has insisted that the same must be done and now, with Mudavadi now calling for deliberations and possible consensus.

"I call upon the Education CS Magoha to engage in dialogue with the KNUT officials and other stakeholders in the education sector so that a lasting solution on the implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) is realized," he added.

Mudavadi is among the top politicians who have declared interest in the 2022 presidential race.
