Deputy President William Ruto and Namibia President Hage Geingob will join President Uhuru Kenyatta at Kakamega State House after Mashujaa Day celebrations at Bukhungu stadium, it has emerged.
Host governor Wycliffe Oparanya said preparations were complete for Saturday's event, a statement which was corroborated by area County Commissioner Ann Ng'etich.
"Tomorrow we will be privileged to host thousands of guests during this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations at Bukhungu Stadium.
"I wan to warmly welcome H.E. @UKenyatta & his guest H.E. Pres. Hage Geingob of Namibia, Dep. Pr. @WilliamsRuto, Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga To Kakamega tomorrow," wrote Oparanya on Twitter.
A source privy to Raila's itinerary said he will be hosted by Uhuru for a brief meeting at State House along with heroes who will attend the event.
Mr. Odinga will on Friday attend funeral service for Mzee Aketch Chieng' at Homa Bay before travelling to his Opoda farm ahead of Saturday's event.
"He will have a brief meeting at a luncheon in Kakamega State House with Uhuru. They are likely to be joined by other guests," said the Capitol Hill source.
While Ruto and Raila have been sharing platforms lately, the two leaders have engaged in spat publicly over proposed referendum.
For Mr. Odinga, the referendum 'must' take place while Ruto insists that it should not be about 'creation of new posts'.
