As the University of Eldoret (UOE) students prepare to elect their new leaders, it is undisputed that the outgoing student leaders lead by the chairman, Bill Clinton has achieved more than the attainments by their predecessors.

Here are some the accomplishments of the outgoing university student leader;

Firstly, Bill Clinton spearheaded and pushed for awarding of University Bursaries to the needy UOE students.  He also launched many initiatives in the support of the less fortunate students that have been borrowed by other universities including Technical University of Kenya and Cooperative University of Kenya.

“Despite the adverse economic conditions, I encouraged numerous initiatives that were launched within the University of Eldoret, in aid of the needy students. The initiative has been borrowed by other institutions such as TUK, Cooperative University of Kenya,” Clinton said during an interview.

Apart from the initiatives, the outgoing chairman also fought for new policies and the review of the rules and regulations that are meant to achieve fairness and justice to the entire UOE fraternity.

Despite many challenges, Bill Clinton has worked hand in hand with the security department to enhance the security of the students within and outside the school premises.

Another realization that every student can testify is the improvement of the entertainment sector within the institution. Working together with his administration including the Entertainment Director, Mr Lemparion, the chairman was at the forefront to ensure proper budgetary allocation of funds and implementation of new ideas.

“Ensuring a consultative dialogue of the new ideas and their implementation, this helped us achieve our level best in talents day and cultural week, that has been modest in our institution, indeed it has set the pace, not only to our institution but to other universities and colleges,” explained Clinton.

He also made a lot of proposals to the University Management including construction of fully-equipped student council office, installation of WIFI point, mainstreaming of Student Center and change in accommodation and welfare of the students and their leader. The implementation of most of the proposals is ongoing while others are yet to be looked at.

He not only fought for fair matatu fare through leading delegation in dialogue and early release of transcripts but he also rallied students to give back to the community through environmental cleanups.

Lastly, Bill Clinton, together with other student leaders of different universities, ensured a meeting with the former Education Cabinet Secretary, Ambassador Amina Mohammad, which ensured sufficient negotiation for a fair share on behalf of all the university students in Kenya.
