A paradigm shift is taking place within Gusii region as politicians realign themselves ahead of 2022 elections.
Having predominantly backed Raila Odinga for the last decade, Gusii region may play key role in determining Kenya's president in 2022 polls.
And with Raila's future unpredictable, Deputy President William Ruto has pitched tent in the region as he seeks to grab over 1 million votes at stake.
Surprisingly, Ruto is investing in youthful politicians contrary to the team Jubilee used in 2017 elections.
South Mugirango legislator Sylvanus Osoro seems to have won the DP's heart and the two have campaigned together across the country severally.
"This issue of dynasty must end. He is a son of a peasant and nobody will intimidate us.
"We shall support him in 2022. Some families cannot claim to have a stake in Kenyan politics," he said in a past campaign.
Also from Kisii County, Ruto is keen to work with Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka, who despite serving in parliament thrice, is relatively young.
In Nyamira County, the DP has invested in North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, who has been coordinating his activities throughout the four constituencies.
Also in the picture is lawyer Shadrack Mose, MP Kitutu Masaba. The two have hosted the DP twice in Nyamira County.
Below the hierarchy is a formidable team of youths led by nominated MCA George Mosiori.
Notably among the victims of his rearrangement are Chris Obure, Walter Nyambati, Joseph Kiangoi and Charles Nyachae who played key role in Jubilee campaigns in 2017.
