Days after the government's move to digitalize its operations and services in the country by launching the biometric data registration of persons on Monday, influential persons are questioning the move.
The resistance is a result of the government move to acquire people's data without guaranteeing its safety.
The following have resisted the call by government and have vowed to marshal Kenyans in rejecting it:
1.David Ndii
The economist has been at the forefront stating that the governments action amounts to infringing on the privacy rights of persons contrary to the laws of Kenya and without on the right to privacy at all cost.
2.Miguna Miguna
The exiled lawyer has been a great critic of the government and has joined the bandwagon marshaling Kenyans to oppose the biometric system saying
"The tyrant Uhuru Kenyatta plans to use the Huduma Card to illegally monitor the movements and activities of all Kenyans. That's unconstitutional," he tweeted.
3.Donald Kipkorir
The flamboyant lawmaker has questioned the government's sincerity and safety of data from terrorists and hackers.
"Our Government needs to be Fully transparent on Huduma Namba. Is it related to previous Huduma Card run by Mastercard? Where will all individual information under Huduma Namba be domiciled? By MasterCard, a foreign company? How safe is the info from Criminal & Terrorist Hackers?" he tweeted.
