The French company that supplied information technology equipment used in the 2017 general elections has withdrawn a suit against Raila Odinga.

IdemiaIdentity and Security France were formerly known as Safran and OT-Morpho had sued Raila alongside other opposition leaders.

The company had sued Raila, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Junet Mohamed and OFDM communication manager Philip Etale for defamation.

On Thursday, the firm asked the court to close the case stating that it was no longer interested in the matter.

The company moved to court seeking to have the leaders stopped from linking it to election rigging claims.

The company wanted the accused stopped from making further reference to the entity in making the poll rigging claims.

The firm sought to have it compensated for alleged defamation.

Raila had claimed that the company colluded with IEBC to deny him victory after the contested 2017 general election.
