In a series of tweets, Joho revealed the details of their meeting.

''H.E Governor Granton Samboja of Taita Taveta County & I agreed on areas of viable economic partnerships between our two counties. Key among the issues discussed were harnessing the potential in livestock trade, value addition on our produce and the transport and logistics sector,'' said Joho.

During the meeting that was also attended by members of the Taita Taveta County Assembly., the leaders also agreed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga's Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

The leaders noted that the BBI will foster unity and bring peace and cohesion in the country.

In the meeting, the leaders also discussed the tassel in Taita Taveta county, which they agreed to bury.

''H.E Governor Samboja was also accompanied by the Members of the County Assembly of Taita Taveta County led by the Speaker & the entire House leadership. They agreed to bury the hatchet and concurred to work together for the benefit of the wonderful people of Taita Taveta County,'' noted Joho in another tweet

Taita Taveta MCAs and Samboja's administration have been at loggerheads over the county budget that culminated in a collection of signatures that sought to dissolve the county.

Already the IEBC has approved the petition to dissolve Taita Taveta County and forwarded it to President Uhuru Kenyatta, who according to the law will then take it to the speaker of the senate.

From the senate, the speaker will then initiate a motion of suspension of the county government.
