A fortnight ago, Mr Echesa was arrested and locked in Kakamega Police Station over suspected links to Matungu killings, an action that has even made him bitter.

In a video making rounds on social media, Echesa, a key ally of DP William Ruto, questions the motive of his arrest, arguing that the government should stop humiliating him.

"A person of my stature should not handled that way. When such arrests are made, I don't think that the president doesn't know. Even my colleagues should have called for any questions for me," he said.

"The president is a man of order but I don't this he should have treated me like that. I even lost a seat because I campaigned for him. I wasn't in a friendly party," added Echesa.

On his sacking, Echesa insists that the President has never told him the reasons behind his dismissal, adding that he should find a place in his heart and forgive him of at all he messed.

"I have never been told why I was dismissed. It's however, the prerogative of the president to reorganize his government. I have never complained and I have moved on. I don't deserve such humiliations.

"If at all I did wrong him and I don't know when I did it, and he's not ready to let me know, let him find a place in his heart and forgive me," Echesa said.

The former minister also wondered why he would be victimised for supporting DP William Ruto, arguing that Uhuru had promised to campaign for the DP after 2017 polls.
