Ngilu refused to hug Kalonzo after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko requested her to do so.

Sonko had called upon the two leaders to bury their political differences and work together for the sake of national unity

Ukambani issues have been characterized by political competition between the duo for a long time.

Ngilu has, however, completely tossed her weight behind the Wiper leader's 2022 presidential bid lately.

Kalonzo has maintained that he won’t forfeit his political aspirations for some other hopefuls.

In 2017, he dropped his presidential aspirations to help ODM chief Raila Odinga who contested for the presidential seat on a NASA ticket.

Wiper and Narc parties headed by Kalonzo and Ngilu respectively have been coordinating throughout the previous two years.

The two political outfits have since entered a post-race consent to help Kalonzo ascend to power in 2022.

Ngilu opines that Kalonzo is now the right man to take over the leadership of this nation when that time comes.

The Kitui county boss has been urging other leaders from the Ukambani region to back Kalonzo so as to rise to power in 2022 as Kenya's next president.
