We have not dismissed suspended CEO Ezra Chiloba, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has said.
This is after reports by a section of the media on Tuesday reported that IEBC fired Chiloba.
In a tweet, the poll agency said “It is not true that CEO Ezra Chiloba, who is on suspension, has been dismissed from employment. What is true is that the disciplinary process is on-going and the Commission will make an objective decision on the matter.”
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati suspended Chiloba in June to allow for " comprehensive audit of all major procurements relating to the August 8, 2017, general election as well as the fresh elections held on October 26, 2017."
His efforts to be reinstated after the Labour relations court issued an order to Chebukati and two remaining IEBC commissioners - Boya Molu and Prof Abdi Guliye - were futile as he was locked out of the office to date.
He has been on forced leave since then he has been away from his office located at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi.
Two weeks ago, his Personal Assistant Abendnego Ominde was arrested while at the IEBC offices trying to sneak out files.
