This comes after the lawmaker on Friday, last week, led parents and other locals in merging the two schools.

The two schools which were separated by a fence were merged after the MP ordered 300 students from Mama Ngina Senior School, a mixed school, to carry their belongings and join their counterparts at PCEA Kinoo School, a girls' school with a population of 100 students.

The MP argued that the Kinoo school was sitting on public land, adding that they had a right to merge the school.

“The public land was illegally and irregularly subdivided by the PCEA Church. There is no problem since we are taking what belongs to us,” said Kimani as quoted by the Standard.

The student from PCEA Kinoo Girls has slammed the MP, arguing that the move has affected learning at the school.

In a video posted on Facebook by the Nairobi Gossip Club, the student identified as Josephine slammed the MP, saying he has no right to interfere with their learning activities, and should instead leave the mandate to Education CS Amina Mohammed.

Josephine said the changes have led to congestion in the school, adding that the institution is no longer conducive for learning, a move that may cause them to fail in their examinations.

She pointed out that they are not used to studying in the same environment as boys, and also raised concern over the move to demolish the fence, which she says poses a security threat to them.

"Mimi sahi nisipo pass nitasema ni sababu ya Ichung'wa. Aliniconfuse sahi siwezi concentrate na masomo na concentrate on a man in a class," said Josephine. (If I fail my exams I will blame it on Ichung'wa. I can no longer concentrate on my studies as my focus has shifted to sharing the same class with boys).
