Raila is currently accompanying President Uhuru Kenyatta to China to negotiate for a Sh368 billion loan for extending the SGR to Kisumu.

Bitok says this reveals a lot about him and his leadership skills.

The commentator notes that the move demonstrates that he was never sincere in his presidential campaign agenda, considering that he termed the whole project a fraud.

He added that it shows that Raila and his party only wanted to lock the Jubilee government out so that they can get in and enjoy themselves with taxpayers' monies.

According to Bitok, Raila seems to have seized the moment after his truce with Uhuru, proof that he was not the right one for Kenya.

"Hii inaonyesha kwamba ODM na Raila hawakuwa na ideologies ndio maana sasa ameungana na Uhuru katika mambo ya SGR (this is an indication that ODM lacked ideologies hence their union with Uhuru on the SGR issue)," he said.

He noted that the railway will not benefit Kenyans in any way, predicting that the move might be Raila's undoing in the event that he goes for the presidency again in 2022.

"Tulidhani ODM wako afadhali eti tuwape nafasi 2022 lakini tumeshangaa wameingia serikalini na kitu cha kwanza ni deni wameendea (We thought ODM was the better option in 2022 but its a shock that their first move upon joining government is a going for a loan)," he added.

Raila is yet to declare interest in the top seat, after taking four unsuccessful shots, the last one being in 2017 where he lost to Uhuru.
