Adulterous sex leads to the spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and divorce.
This act has been condemned by almost every religion and conservative culture.
Islam recommends punishment for those who engage in adultery and fornication.
The main punishment, according to the Quran, for sexual deviance is flogging.
However, a faction of Muslims believes that adultery is a huge mistake that deserves stoning as a punishment.
This group states that flogging is only good for premarital affairs.
“The adulteress and the adulterer, flog each of them (with) a hundred stripes and let not pity for them detain you from obedience to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the last day, and let a party of believers witness their chastisement,” Quran 24:2.
Flogging should be done using shoes, a hand or stick.
Additionally, one was not supposed to be naked but had to take off any heavy clothing that could reduce the flogging effect.
It was also a requirement for one to have a minimum of four witnesses who were present when the crime was being committed.
In the event that you lack the witnesses, you will have to swear five times and lying welcomes severe punishment from Allah.
You can be subjected to eighty floggings should your guilt be confirmed.
It is important to note that human rights organisations have taken exception to these punishments and have repeatedly called for their abolishment.
