Omanga vowed to support the Jubilee Party candidate in the Kibra Parliamentary by-elections to win the race.

Reacting after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Dispute Resolution Tribunal chaired by Chairman Wafula Chebukati cleared Mariga on Monday, Omanga said:

"McDonald Mariga clearance to contest for Kibra by-election is an opportunity for jubilee party to clinch the seat. As a jubilee member and loyalist to the party I'll support our candidate in the coming elections. All the best Hon Mariga, be the Gorge (sic) Weah of Kenya!" she said.

Mariga, had been barred from the race over missing details on the voters' register of 2017.

However, the IEBC tribunal cleared him noting that he is a registered voter. They pointed out that sometimes, details can go missing on the KIEMS Kit, but someone is registered.

His clearance has elicited mixed reactions from a section ODM and Jubilee leaders.

While Jubilee Party leaders are celebrating the clearance, ODM leaders slammed IEBC following its move.

Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo, an ODM member, called for a clean up of the electoral body.

In answering him, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen indicated that ODM still doesn't accept decisions that do not favour them.
