Reports on Nation, indicate that Khalwale noted that Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya will only spoil the Luhya votes if they decide to throw their hats into the ring.

He appealed to the trio to unite and back the second in command to make his dream come true.

Khalwale noted that the three leaders are only engaging in wishful thinking yet they expect the same to turn into reality.

The former Senator reminded the three leaders that they must consider forming alliances with other communities if they want to make it to power after President Uhuru Kenyatta leaves office in 2022.

“Still, even if all Luhya voters came together and voted for one person, they cannot manage to win the presidency because they will not meet the constitutional threshold. We must, therefore, think of engaging in formation of alliances with other communities to raise our stake in the country’s politics.

"How does one think that a party which doesn’t have a single MP or MCA in Nairobi can amass support across all the counties and win the presidential seat?” Khalwale posed as quoted by Nation.

The senator has been insisting that Ruto is the right man to take over the leadership of this nation.

He feels that the DP has proven that he can lead this country and this is his time to rise to the occasion.
