DP Ruto weighed in on the vexed issue of the sugar report on Saturday in Lurambi, making shocking claims about the report.
According to the DP, the sugar report that was done by a parliamentary committee chaired by Kieni MP Kanini Kega, reeked of shoddiness.
"The people that we sent to investigate the importation of illicit sugar went and started taking selfies. Instead of telling us who was importing the sugar, they named Cabinet Secretaries," Ruto said.
This is the first time that Ruto has spoken about the rejection of the sugar report that touched off a storm of controversy.
Legislators came under intense pressure for rejecting the report amid bribery claims.
MPs traded fire in the wake of the shooting down of the report.
CS Rotich and CS Adan Mohamed were implicated in the report over creating conducive conditions for the importation of illicit sugar.
