Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu has dismissed reports that he has pulled out of the gubernatorial race in 2022.
The lawmaker on Monday said he is focused to represent the people of Kisii County in 2022.
"I am available and competent come 2022 because I am ready and willing to serve the good people of Kisii county when the time comes. I will offer my candidature in a manner and timing provided for in law," he said on a Facebook post, on his wall Ezekiel Machogu.
The MP accused his political opponents of spreading propaganda to mislead the people of Kisii County.
"The current rush by opponents to make declarations is premature and will cause unnecessary panic. Kisii residents should know that I haven't withdrawn from running in 2022 as alleged by some aspirants," he noted.
He added; "It is my expectation that leaders and professionals commenting on public issues should do so honestly, truthfully and with good intention. I find the reports and comments that I withdrew my candidature to be misleading our people".
The MP called on locals to ignore his lazy opponents who are desperate spreading falsehood with the purpose of remaining politically relevant.
