The Senate Majority Leader said that it is evident Kinoti is not competent as far the fight against crime is concerned.

The remark came after the office of DCI asked Kenyans to help it trace several vehicles in ongoing probes against various crimes.

Murkomen said that it is clear Kinoti cannot handle complex cases such as those involving huge sums of money if he can turn to social media to ask for help.

“If the DCI has to rely on twitter to establish the ownership of vehicles in Kenya then how will he be able to investigate complex matters of syndicated loans? SMH,” he said through his Twitter account on Friday.

Murkomen has been questioning the capacity of the office of the DCI to fight corruption.

While referring to the probe into the alleged loss of Sh21 billion in the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal, Murkomen claimed that Kinoti is being used by a section of leaders to pursue their agenda.

"We have not questioned the legal mandate of DCI, we are questioning the capacity of the institution and the professional competence of the office holder," he tweeted at the time.

The senator has been urging Kinoti to serve Kenyans with diligence and not strive to impress anyone at the expense of the truth.
