Troubled Neno Evangelism Ministry Pastor James Maina Ng'ang'a has filed a petition at the Milimani High Court seeking to block his looming criminal prosecution over alleged Sh3.6 Million rent arrears fraud.
As reported by citizentv.co.ke , the Neno Evangelism preacher says criminal investigation against him is malicious.
Nga'ng'a argues that the matter under investigation is a pure civil suit that should be handled by commercial court.
In court papers seen by citizentv.co.ke, the controversial preacher laments that his planned criminal prosecution contravenes his rights and is an abuse of the legal process.
In the petition, pastor Ng’ang’a has listed the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), the Inspector General of Police (IG) and the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) as respondents.
The famous preacher wants the court to stop the DPP from prosecuting him pending hearing of the petition.
He argues that the ongoing criminal investigation against him has exposed him to ‘untold’ mental and psychological torture.
The controversial preacher was to be charged on Friday last week. He was however granted a police bond because his file is still under investigation.
Last month, Nga’ng’a was charged in a Limuru court with allegedly threatening to kill Citizen TV journalist Linus Kaikai.
He denied the charge and was set free on Sh200, 000 bail.
