The residents claimed that the MP promised to upgrade the road in his first year in office once he reclaims his seat in the 2017 polls.

"We voted for Tong'i in 2017 and he promised us goodies. It is one year down the line since he was sworn into office but, nothing has been done to improve the state of the road. We are regretting having elected a failure," said Francis Ombiro.

Jared Omae said the MP has been making public relations statements in the constituency without any tangible development.

"Tong'i is loitering around the constituency attending funerals but, when it comes to developments he does nothing. We will be forced to carry jembes to open up the road because it has been rendered impassable following the rains being experienced in the region," said Omae.

Nicodemus Momanyi said constituents were warned against electing the MP but, they could not listen.

"I am happy the people who elected a failure have now realized they were wrong electing Tong'i. I am not feeling much pain because I didn't vote for Tong'i during the last year's polls," said Mr Momanyi.
