Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has slammed Elgeyo Marakwet Senator and Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen over his remarks that the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga is involved in the ongoing eviction of settlers in the Mau Forest.
Joho who is Raila's deputy party leader in ODM, wondered why Murkomen would drag Raila's name into something that does not involve him.
According to Joho, it was irresponsible for Murkomen who to make 'reckless' statements which have no basis.
"How dare he drag Raila's name into Mau evictions? I didn't know Raila is this popular. How did Raila come in, in the evictions?" wondered Joho on Monday.
He was speaking during the opening of a maternal high dependency unit at the Coast General Provincial Hospital (CPGH).Joho's sentiments follows those of James Orengo.
"Raila is not in his league. He is a global icon that his boss Ruto cannot march" said Orengo on Friday, July 20.
His sentiments were echoed by Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang who cautioned Murkomen and Rift Valley leaders against making remarks that can cause tension and unnecessary anxiety in the country.
They were speaking at Gechauri village in Nyamira County during the funeral of the late George Ndemo Nyagarama, the son to Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama.
