Luos are great people who have ventured into almost every available opening.
However, they have their own specializations and places of dominance.
Here are some of them:
1. Sport teams
Members of the Luo community are considered the most talented football players in the nation, making it unusual to have a soccer team without at least a single Luo.
They make the best goalkeepers and forwards for reasons best known to God, and have for long represented the nation globally, a good examples being Michael Olunga and Divock Origi.
They can also be bulky when they decide to, making them the best for rugby assignments, where strength and size seem to be the main weapon.
Just like in football, they dominate rugby too, a field which they, however, share in equal halves with their in-laws from Luhyaland.
2. Jua Kali industry
They are the best welders and blacksmiths, as a result of their power, stamina, and ability to do hard tasks under the scorching sun.
It's mostly these great people who mercilessly stamp on bus-floors to make chapati pans and heat pieces of metal, anvil and hit them to make hoes and axe blades.
3. Engineering shops
They dominate garages and automobile repair shops, otherwise known as garages.
Here, they adopt different names based on their fields of specialization, with the person specializing in wiring adopting the name 'Jawaya' (wireman in Dholuo) and 'Jarangi' which translates to car painter.
