TNAP 'disowns' Moses Kuria
The Transformation National Alliance Party (TNAP) had denied any links with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
The party has also denied links with the now defunct The National Alliance party (TNA), at a time when Kuria has been calling for the formation of a new Mt Kenya political party.
TNAP Secretary-General Arnold Maliba on Wednesday cleared the air, saying that Kuria is not even among its leaders, but is welcome to join.
He said that the party is a national outfit and not a Mt Kenya bloc as is being said, and will play an important role in helping politicians, including Kuria, to ascend to power in 2022.
"Sisi tunajua Kuria yuko Jubilee ila kama anataka aje, tutamsaidia hata kushinda kiti chake tena (We all know Kuria is in Jubilee but he is welcome if he wants to come. We will help him defend his seat)," he said.
Speaking on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Citizen on Wednesday, Maliba said that the party should be expected to be seen operating across the county once the campaigns begin.
He added that claims that TNAP is a Mt Kenya party will, however, not prevent it from seeking influence in the region.
"Gari hili linabeba route 254 ambayo ni Kenya na Mt Kenya pia ni Kenya (This is a national party plying the 245 route. Mt Kenya too is part of Kenya)," he added.
