More trouble is expected within the ruling Jubilee Party regarding the ongoing disagreement about Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
This comes only days after party Vice Chair David Murathe poured could water on Ruto's bid, telling him off on expecting the party's backing in the race.
Murathe was speaking during the Maragoli Cultural Festival in Mbale, Vihiga County on Wednesday last week.
The remark has since landed him on the receiving end from Ruto's allies who have bashed and condemned him for downplaying the DP's ambitions.
But in an interview with Citizen TV on Sunday, Tuju appeared to defend the embattled former legislator, noting that he was simply airing his opinion and shouldn't be demonized.
"I would not want to tell somebody to not say how they feel. That kind of talk is sometimes essential ventilation," said the Cabinet Minister without portfolio.
Murathe has since defended himself, noting that he only aired the real feeling felt by most Jubilee members who are however afraid to speak out.
Murathe enjoys then backing of nominated MP and former Starehe legislator Maina Kamanda who has echoed his remarks, saying that Ruto should expect more of that as 2022 closes in.
