Kibwana said he is tired of being in an abusive marriage with Kalonzo’s party.

In an interview with Capital FM on Thursday, Kibwana accused Kalonzo of using his junior officers to fight him politically.

“We know he has been using some junior Wiper politicians to frustrate me. You remember the other day, he even used former MCAs to insult me at a funeral in my home county,” Kibwana said.

Kibwana said his ideologies no longer match those of Kalonzo and Wiper party.

He questioned Kalonzo’s leadership as Wiper leader.

“During the funeral of Kalonzo’s dad, he announced to be the President Uhuru Kenyatta's errand boy and said no one should question him. He was pointing fingers at me since he knew very well I will question him,” added he.

A section of Wiper politicians led by former Machakos  Senator Johnson Muthama has  been pushing for Kibwana’s expulsion from the party.

The politicians accuse the governor of working with Kalonzo’s political enemies.

They also accuse Kibwana of frustrating Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.

Kibwana has denied frustrating Kalonzo.

Wiper party has, however, dismissed Kibwana’s alleged resignation.

The Party's Secretary General Judy Sijeny said the governor has not presented formal communication of his resignation.
