A woman has sued an MP after a fling that saw them sire a baby.
The woman is now demanding Sh240 000 as upkeep from the MP.
The love drama is between Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir and the woman which has seen them engage in legal battles over the child.
The MP has also sought the help of the court in order to be allowed custody of the two-and-a-half-year-old child on weekends and holidays.
Lawyer Mitchel Menezes, acting for Shabbir has asked resident magistrate Pauline Mbulika to grant him access to the child during weekends and public holidays pending the hearing and determination of the upkeep case as filed by the woman.
The woman told the court she wants Sh50,000 for rent, Sh18,000 for recreational activities of the child, Sh30,000 monthly food supplies, Sh40,000 school fees and another Sh10,000 each for house help’s salary, security, school lunch, school transport and other transport per month. She also wants Shabbir to pay Sh8,000 for electricity, Sh6,000 for water and Sh28,000 for medical insurance.
The court will rule on Shabbir's prayer on September 27 as the hearing for the woman's prayer continue.
This case adds to the list of politician sued by baby mamas over children upkeep after steamy flings.
Other politicians who have been involved in baby mamas drama are Senator Kimani Wamatangi, judge Charles Nyachae, CS Joe Mucheru among others.
Currently, a top politician in the country is in the public limelight after he was accused of masterminding the brutal murder of a university student he impregnated.
