The DP on Friday waded into the Orange party politics and hit out at its leadership following the decision to expel Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa.

In a tweet, Ruto said Jumwa committed no offence in having a handshake with him and, therefore, should not have been ejected.

He accused the ODM party leader of blackmailing the vocal legislator so she can 'kneel and worship' him as an apology.

"You who've masqueraded as champions of women, now in your true colours expel a woman elected in her own right after defeating men and blackmail her to kneel and worship you as an 'apology'. Crime? Associating with elected DP of GoK you have 'handshake' with. Tragically deceitful," the DP posted on his official Twitter account.

However, in a quick rejoinder, ODM director of communications Philip Etale rubbished the remarks, saying Ruto has his own faults and should be the last person to criticise others.

"With due respect to you Sir, if we may ask, how much is good than BAD have you done to the society called Kenya? You live in a glass house Sir," Etale tweeted.

The ODM spokesperson said the MP was expelled after she went against party rules and regulations which she had committed to observing.

"Hon. Aisha Jumwa signed the party's code of conduct and she is bound to respect the party rules and the law of the land. Thank you," he added.
