The 30-year-old man and his wife aged 28 will spend seven days in Machakos GK Prison until October 15 when they will re-appear in court.

The two reportedly beat and injured their biological son for stealing Sh200.

They are said to have committed the offense between 4th  and 5th October 2018 at Kilembwa village in Wamunyu location.

The court heard that in an attempt to discipline their child, the two seriously beat him up.

The victim sustained serious injuries.

The suspects appeared before Wamunyu Law Courts Senior Resident Magistrate Irene Kahuhia on Monday.

They both pleaded guilty to the charges leveled before them.

In mitigation, the parents to five children pleaded with the court to release them promising not to repeat the offense.

They said there was nobody to take care of their other four children while they are in police custody.

However, their pleas fell on deaf ears.

Kahuhia ordered that they be remanded at the Machakos GK Prison stating they will pose danger to the other four children.

She directed the prosecution to write a report on the incident and present it before the court on October 15.
