The Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya Dr.William Ruto has lavished praises to President Uhuru Kenyatta for standing true to his words and commitment to uniting Kenyans for the better course.
Speaking in Kisii county when he accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga to commission the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital on Wednesday, Ruto said since 2013, Kenyatta has been true to his statements and pledge.
"Mheshimiwa Rais, mbali na kusukuma mambo ya maendeleo, vilevile tulipoanza 2013 kusema kwamba tuache siasa ya ukabila, chuki, ugomvi, wewe umesukuma hilo gurudumu hadi leo tumeketi hapa na ndugu yetu mheshimiwa Raila Odinga kufuatia mazungumzo yenu ya kuwaleta wakenya pamoja. (Apart from development, you have (Mr.President) driven the agenda of uniting Kenyans following your accord with Raila Odinga which has enabled us today sit together)
"That is in line with keeping your legacy of uniting Kenyans," said DP Ruto.
The visit to Nyanza region which the President has made frequently commissioning projects is as a result of the March 9th handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his political nemesis Raila Odinga of uniting the country and shunning political differences.
President Kenyatta has been on record that he wants to leave a legacy of a united Kenya and realization of the big four pillars of development ranging from manufacturing, affordable housing, better healthcare and food security.
