Thika United suffered another blow in their quest to avoid relegation from the Kenya Premier league on Wednesday afternoon, after they failed to find the net against Kariobangi Sharks and losing 3-0 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Sharks scored their first goal in the first half through George Abege before netting the second one through Duke Abuya after a lapse in the United defense.
The Sharks found the back of the net in the dying minutes of the second half after Erick Kapaito scored a from the six-yard box.
Thika are now set to host KPL Champions Gor Mahia on Wednesday 12th September before hosting the fifth-placed Tusker Fc in their last match at home in the main Kenya league.
Thika has found it hard in the league this season following the departure of coach Nicholas Muyoti and the appointment of tactician John Njogu finding themselves at the bottom of the league with only 20 points having won 4 drawn 8 and lost 16 matches.
Central Kenya will now have no team in the Kenya Premier league if Bidco United will not be promoted. Bidco currently stands fourth in the National super league and has a chance to be promoted to the premier league if they finish second above KCB and Nairobi Stima FC.
