Speaking in Koru, Muhoroni constituency in May 2014, during the opening of Dr Robert Ouko Memorial Library, K’ Oyoo distanced himself from allegations that he participated in Ouko’s murder.

This came amid rumors that the lawmaker had lent a hand in the elimination of the celebrated leader.

The then first time lawmaker sobbingly rubbished claims that he used the proceeds of the murder to spearhead his campaigns, adding that his political lifeline depended on Ouko then.

“My hands are clean, they do not contain any blood of the former Foreign Affairs minister. The evidence I gave Dr Ouko’s Commission of Inquiry is still alive and anyone who wants to know who murdered my friend can investigate from the evidence,” he was quoted by the Daily Nation.

“He was the one to determine whether I could get my job. The next thing I heard was that he went missing. How could I then participate in his death?” he was further quoted.

The former Foreign Affairs was found dead at Got Alila Hill on the morning of February 13, 1990, after going missing from his Koru Complex home located about 2.8 kilometers away the previous night.

Initial police reports indicated that Ouko committed suicide, an amazing finding as he was as well shot and partly burnt.

A Scotland Yard probe team under Detective Superintendent John Troon was later called in by then President Daniel Moi to investigate the case on February 21, and confirmed that he was murdered .
