Bomariba MCA has broken his silence over the water shortage which has hit the area.
MCA Protus Moindi said he has been in the ward several times but no resident has ever complained about the poor state of the water springs.
"I just learnt about the poor state of a water spring at Riamagige through the media because no resident has ever raised concern over the bad state which has brought about water shortage in the area," said Moindi.
The MCA assured the residents that the water spring will be repaired as soon as possible to avert the water crisis.
"Now that I'm aware of the bad state of our water springs, I will ensure necessary action is taken for residents to continue having access to clean water," he stated.
The former majority leader in the Kisii County Assembly appealed to residents not to keep quiet whenever the water springs blocks.
According to the ward rep, the local contractors who were contracted to maintain the water springs between 2013-2017 are to blame for the blocked water pipes.
This comes after residents on Monday raised concerns over the dried up springs despite the region receiving rains.
"We have no water to drink, bath or use in cooking food because all water springs have gone dry. Some of the water springs the MCA repaired have blocked while others have gone dry. He has gone missing from the ward something that will force us to storm his office," said Agnes Moraa, a resident.
