Muthama who spoke in Mbiuni, Mwala Sub County on Sunday said that the lawmakers have shown insensitivity to the suffering constituents they represent.

He observed that the MPs should be tabling motions that seek to uplift the living standards of the common mwananchi citing that over 90 per cent of people in every constituency are poor.

"There are no schools, hospitals have no drugs no water, impassable roads in our regions but the legislators are busy seeking to increase their salaries, such a shame," said Muthama.

He noted that the MPs are selfish putting in mind that they are paid by Kenyans tax money.

"We elected selfish MPs who have no desire to serve mwananchi, I waited to hear one of them stand and reject the calls for salary increment but none came out, they are all greedy," said the former Senator.

"Who will defend our people from these greedy MPs? They have house allowances, medical insurances and many more but they are bent on milking the taxpayers dry, the big fishes are now feasting on the small ones," he added.

Muthama was speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony at Light Christian Church, Katitu.
