A section of the youths, however, hit out at the leaders saying they ignored the deceased when he was alive only to rush to contribute for his burial and eulogize him passionately.

"Our leaders should learn to support youth start business or get jobs instead of waiting until they die to donate generously," Elijah Kinyanjui, a blogger in Nakuru who was involved in Kel Wesh's fundraising, said.

Those who were close to the deceased said that he was vibrant and go-getter.

In 2017, he vied for the Solai Member of County Assembly but lost.

He then approached several Nakuru leaders for a job or to help him kick-start a Securicor business he had started but none came through.

"Ifikie wanasiasa, if you cant support me build myself when I'm alive tafadhali nkikufa usitoe elfu kumi ukisemaga vile tulikuwa tunasaidiana, hizo pesa uchukue upeleke familia yako out," Messopotamia Jaba Ya Ruriri posted after Kel Wesh's saga.

Despite having a powerful connection with leaders, who promised to give him a decent send off after news of his death emerged, the blogger depended on online writing to earn a living.

He pished in a road accident at Naivasha January 19, 2019.

He was laid to rest at their Arutani home in Solai.
