Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has given a hint on the kind of leader he will be supporting for the country’s top seat in the 2022 general elections.
Tiren has been seen as being against Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid especially because of his closeness with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the two-time MP said his support for 2022 will be pegged on an individual who will help farmers.
He, however, said it was still too early to discuss 2022 politics.
“My support for 2022 presidency shall be pegged on an individual who will be ready and has shown the willingness to help the farmers. I feel that this debate is far too early to discuss now, we should focus on service delivery to our electorates,” said Tiren in the Facebook post.
The Jubilee MP who has since been branded a rebel in Jubilee party following his vocal nature on the farmers' issues further expressed his support for the handshake which he termed as “the best thing that happened to us as a country”.
“I am in support of the President in ensuring that each part of this country is developed and no region should be regarded as special. Handshake is the best thing that happened to us as a country, it has brought stability and enable the country move forward,” posted the MP.
