At least 10 girls from Matutu PAG Secondary school in Gesima risks dropping out of school after being confirmed pregnant.
So worrying is the trend of teen pregnancies in the Masaba North region that even area Women Rep Jerusha Momanyi has publicly condemned the incidents.
"We can not have beasts in the name of men ruin the lives of young girls and go unpunished. We shall ensure the law takes its course," she said.
In the school with a population of 300 students (both day and boarding), the pregnancies are spread across with form one registering 5 cases, Form two recording two and the rest three.
School principal Charles Osoro blamed parents for poor bringing besides accusing bodaboda operators of taking advantage of the young girls.
"I can confirm that we have cases of early pregnancies. This happened around in December and it affects old day scholars.
"Parents are partly to blame because they don't seem bothered with their girls. We also have motorbike riders who are causing more harm,"he said.
Few meters from the institution, at Riooga Secondary, principal Job Rasugu also admitted having three cases of pregnant girls.
According to him, the law allows the students to continue staying in school. He also notes that most of them dropped from other institutions before joining the school.
