Luo Nyanza is home to some of the most delicious foods, fish topping the list.

However, it is at the same time home to some of the worst ever foods you can imagine.

Here are some of the terrible foods you might not like when you visit this region.

1. Ojuri

It is a mixture of raw meat and blood, a pathetic combination in the first place, before the addition of indigested food retrieved from the stomach of livestock.

To worsen the dish, it is heavily peppered, making it not favorable to most people as majority of people find it hard dealing with pepper.

It is a cultural dish that is not common unless there is a special event.

2. Ogira

This is basically fried flour, a tasteless and unattractive dish you are likely to meet on your table when you visit the lakeside region.

It is also rare for obvious reasons, and is prepared using all types of flour, sorghum and maize included, and at times milk is added.

3. Mahanya

This is plainly boiled maize, served in the form of githeri, but in the absence of the beans.

It also tasteless and boring, and is another technique of feeding the family at a time when there is no other option.

Most children would rather keep off and eat at the neighbors' instead.
